1.2 PPR is not required for radio-equipped a/c but visiting pilots can obtain airfield information on the day of their intended arrival by telephoning Devon & Somerset Flight Training on 01404-891643. This is also advised for confirmation of the event taking place should there be any doubt about the weather.

3 Arrivals
3.1 Pilots inbound to Dunkeswell should make initial radio contact with Dunkeswell Radio on 123.475 at either 10 miles or with 5 minutes to run to the field.
3.2 Pilots should familiarise themselves with the geography surrounding Dunkeswell, in particular the need to avoid North Hill gliding site 1.5 nm to the west-south-west of Dunkeswell. See local airspace map. Other locations that may be used to report inbound positions are Cullompton, Wellington and Taunton to the west & north on the M5, the disused airfields Culmhead and Smeatharpe to the north and north east and Watchford Farm airstrip 5.5 nm to the north east.

3.4 Outside the NE boundary of the aerodrome and separated from it by a public road is a large paved area which is not part of the aerodrome. Runway 22 has a 150 metre displaced threshold to ensure height separation on the approach when crossing the public road. The displaced threshold should be identified before committing the a/c to the final approach.
3.5 Devon Strut marshallers and ground crew will be wearing yellow high vis vests. (N.B. No other personnel, whether aircrew or public will be allowed to wear high vis vests).
3.6 Aircraft will be marshalled to parking areas either side of runway 17/35 which will be inactive for the weekend. Pilots remain responsible for their own wing tip clearances and if any doubt exists, should shut down and man-handle into their parking space.
3.7 Aircraft requiring 100LL fuel on arrival should display an A4 “F” sign for marshalling to the pumps.
3.8. All pilots must book in. Friday arrivals should book in at the Devon & Somerset Flight Training office whereas those on Saturday and Sunday should book in at the Control marquee. A landing fee of £10 per a/c will be payable and all crew will be provided with security wristbands and an airfield security briefing.
3.9 No flying displays will take place during the event.
4 Departures
4.1 All pilots must book out at the Control Desk (see airfield diagram), receive the departure information briefing before leaving Dunkeswell and must follow marshallers’ instructions prior to pushing out of parking spaces and engine start-ups.
