Jurca Tempete G-ASUS - David Millin
David Millin acquired Jurca Tempete G-ASUS for restoration in April 2018. Over 300 examples of the Tempete have been built, mainly in France, and G-ASUS is one of only two examples of this 1950s single seat design in the UK.
It had not flown for several years since a prop swinging start-up resulted in a runaway and collision with a hangar door at Seething airfield near Norwich. Damage was sustained to a wing leading edge and port fuselage side including the top longeron. David disassembled the airframe with the capable assistance of Brian Lyford and of LAA Inspector and owner of Seething-based Fordaire, Rex Ford.
April 2019 - Dave Silsbury has repaired the upper longeron, associated uprights and replaced the birch ply skin and is now preparing the hull for recovering with fabric.
